Miyamori Girls' High School

Miyamori Girls' High School

Senpo: Shiromi Kozegawa

Voice Actor: Juri Nagatsuma
A third-year, she plays Senpo in the team tournament.
She finds everything a hassle, and her catchphrase is "so tiring" (daru-i).
In mahjong, her trait is that her scores get higher when she hesitates.

Ability: Taking a long think makes you more likely to draw useful tiles
However, using it consecutively weakens your draws

Initial Stats Ability ★★
Spirit ★★★
Tsumo ★★★
Haipai ★★★★
Luck ★★★
Haipai Adjustment Sanshoku Chanta, Iipeikou, Ittsuu, Sangenpai, Junchan Sanshoku, Two Ankou and Three Toitsu
Ability Activation Timing When discarding a tile

Special Cut-In Conditions

5 = Tsumo with baiman or higher

Match-Only Voice Lines

“So tiring…”
“Hold on a sec” ...When the ability activates

Mechanics

The ability activates if you wait 10 seconds from when your turn comes around until you discard a tile.
When the match rules set a 10-second time limit, you can activate the ability by discarding at the last moment or waiting until time runs out.
The ability cannot be activated when the time limit is 5 seconds.

The basic haipai adjustments are (jun)chan sanshoku and suuankou 1-shanten.
In the chanta sanshoku case, 789 and an honor-tile ankou are stacked.
In the junchan sanshoku case, 11 + 123 + 789 (manzu) + 789 (pinzu) + 7 (souzu) are guaranteed, and the remaining 2 tiles are random.

For suuankou 1-shanten, which tiles become the ankou is completely random.
Honor tiles are involved very often, and seat winds, round winds, and sangenpai may be stacked indiscriminately.
Occasionally an ankou becomes a kantsu, and there are cases where the toitsu is broken up.

As for "Hold on a sec," the current understanding is only that useful tiles come more easily.

Strategy

For stat allocation, Haipai and Luck at MAX are a must. With Haipai alone, the stacking probability becomes a bit lower.
Ability is currently of low necessity, so leaving it unallocated is fine.

Against Shiro
When she declares double riichi, it is usually a (jun)chan sanshoku hand.
However, the certainty of (jun)chan sanshoku at double riichi is relatively low, so she usually waits for her hand to change.
If she discarded terminals and honor tiles in her first discards, she is very likely waiting on 8-souzu or 6/9-souzu. 6-souzu is the cheaper one, but dealing into 8-souzu or 9-souzu is a guaranteed haneman, and with dora involved a baiman is possible, so absolutely avoid discarding them.
Next, watch out for terminals and honor tiles. These are often tanki waits, so they are quite dangerous even when two copies have already been discarded.
At double riichi she may also be passing on renhou, so be very careful.

If Shiro pons or declares ankan, she very likely has a suuankou haipai.
With a single call she is almost certainly in tenpai, so be careful when discarding unseen tiles.
The probability of a suuankou tanki wait is extremely rare.
However, with something like toitoi + sanankou + yakuhai and an ankou made of dora, it can go as high as a baiman.

Jiho: Eislinn Wishart

Voice Actor: Mariko Mizuno
An exchange student from New Zealand who can't speak much Japanese.
Because of this, she always wears a whiteboard around her neck
and communicates with others by drawing pictures.

Ability: At haipai, she can visualize the shape of her winning hand

Initial Stats Ability ★
Spirit ★★★★
Tsumo ★★★
Haipai ★★★★
Luck ★★★
Haipai Adjustment Ittsuu, Sanankou, Sangenpai, Iipeikou, Sanshoku
Ability Activation Timing At the start of a round

Special Cut-In Conditions

5 = Tsumo while the ability is active

Mechanics

The ability is cancelled if a call is made.

When the ability activates, she is guaranteed to reach tenpai on turn 10 and can draw the winning tile on turn 11.
Basically there are no wasted draws, so at the initial haipai often only 3 pieces are in place.
If there are 4 or more blue-highlighted tiles, it adjusts things so that she can reach tenpai on turn 10.
Rarely, she reaches tenpai on turn 9 and can win on turn 10.

The activation rate changes with the Ability value.
With Spirit at ★MAX, it can be activated about 8 times
This ability is not affected by the Haipai and Tsumo values.

Like Touka, [if not called] she can reliably get riichi ippatsu tsumo.
Also, if the completed shape contains a 5, the probability of her bringing a red dora is very high, and [if not called] the rate of haneman to baiman hand values is very high.

Below are the yaku of completed shapes that have been confirmed (excluding pinfu):
Ittsuu
Sanshoku
Sanankou
Iipeikou
Ryanpeikou
Chinitsu
Ittsuu + Hatsu
Sanshoku + Iipeikou
Sanshoku + East
Tanyao + Sanankou
Honitsu + Sanankou + Chun
Tanyao + Ryanpeikou
Chinitsu + Iipeikou
Suuankou

Bugs

Occasionally, even when the ability is activated, it gets cut off at the haipai. (The trigger condition is currently unknown.)

Chuken: Kurumi Shikakura

Voice Actor: Moe Toyota
Her sharp comebacks, delivered from her petite 130 cm frame,
show no mercy even to Shiromi.

Ability: Draws get stronger if you reach tenpai without declaring riichi

Initial Stats Ability ★★
Spirit ★★★
Tsumo ★★★
Haipai ★★★
Luck ★★★
Haipai Adjustment Sanankou
Ability Activation Timing When a discard locks in tenpai

Special Cut-In Conditions

5 =

Match-Only Voice Lines

“You there, be quiet!”
“Dealer, hurry up and draw!”
“I'm gonna spin it~~”

Mechanics

The ability does not require menzen to activate.

Strategy

Other characters whose draws get stronger once they reach tenpai are Hisa Takei and Touka Ryuumonbuchi, but
she differs from Hisa in having no restriction on the number of remaining winning tiles,
and differs from Touka in having no han restriction and in being able to activate the ability even after calling.
If you want to differentiate her from these characters, you'll want to call actively.

Fukusho: Sae Usuzawa

Voice Actor: Rina Satou
A third-year, she is the club president.
She looks up to her coach, Toshi Kumakura, and in matches wears a monocle
inherited from Kumakura. She has the power to block strong players' wins.

Ability: When she picks one target, that opponent becomes unable to win

Initial Stats Ability ★★★
Spirit ★★★
Tsumo ★★★
Haipai ★★★
Luck ★★★
Haipai Adjustment Sanankou
Ability Activation Timing At the start of a round (activated at will)

Special Cut-In Conditions

5 =

Match-Only Voice Lines

“Shall I block it…”
“Come at me, if you dare. Priestess of the Evil Stones…!” ...When Hatsumi Usuzumi is North and her ability activates (regardless of who is being blocked)

Mechanics

The targeted opponent draws unneeded tiles more often.
Since a player can win normally as long as they are in tenpai, she is powerless against, for example, Awai Oohoshi's double riichi.

Once someone reaches tenpai, the blocked opponent is made to draw dangerous tiles rather than unneeded tiles, so be careful: against someone who knows the mechanics, your winning tiles can be taken from you.

Taisho: Toyone Anetai

Voice Actor: Maaya Uchida
A third-year member of the mahjong club.
She is starstruck by nature, going to get autographs from famous players.
She is very tall at 197 cm.
The height difference between her and Kurumi is 67 cm.

Ability: Sensho - Everyone's draws are strengthened only in the first half
Tomobiki - If you make a hadaka tanki, you draw the winning tile
Senbu - When another player declares riichi, the rate of drawing useful tiles from then on rises greatly. If you chase with riichi, the opponent's tsumo is very likely to become your winning tile.
Butsumetsu - Everyone's rate of drawing useful tiles goes down
Taian - Everyone's rate of drawing useful tiles goes up
Shakkou - Her own draws are strengthened in the midgame

Initial Stats Ability ★★★
Spirit ★★★★
Tsumo ★★★
Haipai ★★★
Luck ★★★
Haipai Adjustment Ittsuu, Sanankou, Sanshoku, Iipeikou, Chiitoitsu, Sangenpai
Ability Activation Timing After the haipai (activated at will)

Special Cut-In Conditions

5 = Tsumo on a hadaka tanki

Match-Only Voice Lines

“I'm not alone~”
“My friend has come~” ...The moment she draws a hadaka tanki tile
“If it passes, riichi♪” ...When chasing with riichi (unrelated to Senbu)

Mechanics

Number of times the ability can be activated by Spirit
★4-4.5: about 5 times (rarely 6)
★MAX: about 12 times

Comments

  • I've written out the Haipai Adjustments for each character as far as I know them. I've barely researched them yet, so I'd be glad if you could keep adding to and correcting this. --- (2018/02/27 22:56:35)
